In New Babylon, The Hague, we created a brand-new interior for Netbeheer Nederland that reflects its identity and role in the energy transition. At Parella, we guided the entire process, from strategy and concept to design, project management, and implementation, resulting in a work environment where connection, energy, and collaboration take center stage.
Design
and implementation.
For Netbeheer, we created an inspiring work environment where the power of energy and connection takes center stage. The interior brings reliability, collaboration, and sustainability to life through a spatial concept that stimulates innovation and exchange. In this context, Parella combined strategy, design, and implementation within a clear and integrated approach.
Netbeheer is a rapidly evolving and growing organization. To support this development, the company expanded on the same floor where its offices were already located. As the exact space requirements had not yet been precisely defined, Parella developed a layout concept to determine the number of square meters needed and the optimal layout.
While our real estate consulting teams were in discussions with the building owner, and several parties were showing interest, the design and negotiations progressed in parallel. Thanks to quick decision-making and a solid final proposal, the new lease agreement was successfully concluded.
The theme of "networking" was central, echoing the liaison role that Netbeheer plays between network operators and public authorities. This idea is also reflected in the layout of the offices, which are designed to accommodate both members who come and go regularly and employees who are present on a daily basis.
Upon entering, a central hub forms the heart of the space, with landing areas on the left and workstations for longer days on the right. This concept perfectly matched Netbeheer's identity and ambitions and was fully reflected in the final design.
A clear line of sight connects the reception area, work zones, and meeting spaces into a coherent whole. Warm shades of earthy red and green create a welcoming atmosphere, while shades of gray-blue and green-yellow bring calm and energy.
Formal language refers to bridges, symbols of connection and infrastructure, visible in custom-made elements integrated into key visual perspectives.
Industrial elements such as cables, conduits, and transformers have been creatively reused, linking the design to the world of energy and technology.
Parella handled both the design and project management, combining aesthetics, functionality, and identity in a sustainable work environment that makes the power of connection and collaboration tangible.
